I found the ancient art of felting at the same time I started to study shamanism with Windhorse Circle in Pownal, Maine. I have an eclectic background in the arts, and it offered me a unique foundation to explore this new medium. I see my art an expression of my experience of the energetic world. I create art to demonstrate the joining of the unseen and everyday worlds, of the unspoken and spoken word. My art is inspired by my shamanic journeys and meditations as well as the personal stories and histories of the people I meet, the animal and natural world, the mystery and treasures of the sea, and by my personal ancestral symbols.
As I reflect back on my eighteen year career in New York City it feels like another lifetime, and yet it was a lifetime spent nurturing and supporting my current work. My collective experience has cultivated a unique and deeply personal approach to ceremony, ritual, rites of passage and holding sacred space. I spent my previous career working with high school and college students of all ages which gave me a rich background in holding space for learning, discovery and counsel.
During that lifetime in New York City, I wasn’t fully connected to my body and was ignoring my overall wellness. I heard the call of the compassionate spirit world but didn’t know yet how to respond and fully listen. It was in New York City that I met my husband, Jason, who brought me to his home state of Maine where my whole life shifted.
The land of Maine gave me a second chance at living. It is a life I am deeply grateful for. The inspiration of the land fuels my dedication to my personal Hollow Bone work so that I can continue to be a conduit for compassionate spirit to facilitate healing for you.
